In response to California's place in the nation's growing crisis in health insurance coverage, the Los Angeles Council of Religious Leaders created a Health Care Task Force "to study this situation, and, ultimately, to speak about it from the perspective of the region's religious conscience." The result was the 2006 Theological Statement on Health Care resource which was produced to guide the council's continuing education around this issue.

Toolkits for Faith Communities from the Children's Defense Fund
The Children's Defense Fund has developed two toolkits that focus on children's health care. The Covering All Children in 2007 kit supports their Healthy Children Campaign. The 2007 Children's Sabbath kit focuses on children with the theme Congregations Stand for Healthy Children: Bringing Hope and Healing.
